स्पाइसजेटच्‍या दिल्ली-कोलकाता विमानात घातपाताचा संशय आल्‍यानंतर त्वरित विमान कोलकात्‍यात घाईघाईत उतरवण्‍यात आले असून सुत्रांनी दिलेल्‍या माहितीनुसार या प्रकरणी दोघा संशयितांना ताब्यात घेण्‍यात आले आहे. दोघेही विदेशी नागरिक असून त्यात एक स्त्री व एका पुरूषाचा समावेश आहे.


स्पाइसजेटच्‍या 203 फ्लाइटमध्‍ये 123 प्रवासी होते. विमान उतरवल्‍यानंतर ते वेगळे उभे करण्‍यात आले असून सर्वांची तपासणी केली जात आहे. तर अटक करण्‍यात आलेल्‍यांची कोलकाता विमानतळावर वेगळ्या खोलीत तपासणी केली जात आहे.

A Spicejet flight Wednesday made a 'priority landing' here after a burqa-clad passenger with a man-like physique aroused the suspicion of crew members on board.

The Delhi-Kolkata-Dhaka Spicejet flight 208 with 123 passengers on board landed at the N S C Bose Airport here around noon after the pilot was given clearance by the ATC to make a priority landing, airport sources said.

The aircraft was immediately taken to an isolation bay and was surrounded by CISF personnel, the bomb squad, fire brigade and the police, the sources said.

The burqa-clad passenger and another person sitting next to her were offloaded and the aircraft searched, the sources said.

The burqa-clad passenger, however, turned out to be a woman, the sources said.

Her large physique made the crew suspect that she was actually a man and since her identity could not be verified on board, the pilot asked for permission from the ATC to make a priority landing, the sources said.

She along with another passenger were being questioned. Flights at the airport remained unaffected. There was no hijack threat to the SpiceJet aircraft, a Civil Aviation Ministry spokesperson said in New Delhi.

Two passengers, including the woman, were taken by the police for questioning, she said.

The emergency procedures, including meetings of the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security and the Crisis Management Group, which are followed in case of a hijack alert were not pursued, official sources said.
